Morning everyone! Happy belated new year. 2024 was weird af. I had a lot of really cool moments last year (Getting to open for Colin Cook/IDBH was a huge highlight) but TBH I'm ready to put most of it behind me. I've been spending the last month or so traveling around the United States with my homie Xavier (Go check him out, he's a super dope painter) so I thought I'd share a quick lil recap of our adventures with y'all.
We started middle of December leaving Denver. We had moved there a couple months ago and it really just was not working out. The living situation was absolutely fricken atrocious and it really felt like almost all the creative people had left the city (With the exception of Quite Right Records). So we hopped in the car and started driving. Down East through Kansas and Oklahoma. To Arkansas. Go see Arkansas. It's so fricken pretty.
After Arkansas, we came back up through Missouri and Iowa to Nebraska for the holidays. We made some really dope tunes with my homie Alek, played a shitload of Magic, and prepared for the next leg.
We snaked down through Southwest Nebraska into Northeast Kansas. Probably the most interesting chunk of either state visually. Lots of big rolling hills, rocks, serene lakes, and weird old lil towns that are almost entirely abandoned. Then you get into Southeast Colorado, which is also really unlike the rest of the state- big green flats and lots of trees at a lower altitude. Super peaceful and beautiful.
Next was Trinidad, the southernmost town in Colorado's chunk of the I-25 corridor. Primo quality dispos and some fun touristy shit, but nowhere near our final destination. We're bound for Cali. So we head South to New Mexico. Dive bomb down I-25 in the black of night at an 11 percent grade on some of the most poorly maintained roads in America. It's probably two hours before there's any kind of gas station or truck stop. New Mexico, WTF.
We crash out in Las Vegas. Not the one in Nevada (Though we'll get to that later). Start the day off at Montezuma Hot Springs. In the meantine, my homie Tobi AKA Oddball Savage surprise drops my remix on Bandcamp. A free semi-modernized spring along the side of the highway. Then we drive though Arizona. Go check out Petrified Forest. It's amazing.
After Arizona, we came down into California through the mountains into Malibu. We got a massive load of shells literally DAYS before the fire. But... that's a story for another day lol. To be continued. Sorry but my publisher (some annoying douche named Christoph) said I have to save that for another day so we can split up the post and get more clicks. In the meantime tho, go check out my Bandcamp and Merch Store so I can keep making tunez and doin cool shyt. Thanks for reading, see ya on the flipside!
